So what is DynEd? It's been popping around (or maybe not). Maybe you've heard it from a friend (who's likely the same person... whoops). Maybe your school teacher announced that your class is going to take "DynEd" classes and your classmate thought that it's some superhero who loves bugs. Whatever it is, there's a reason you went here, and what's a visitor without knowing what DynEd is?
To put it simply, DynEd usually refers to an English learning software, made by a company of the same name. The full name of this software is DynEd Courseware. The word "courseware" itself is a portmanteau of "course" and "software".
I would personally call it a game.
Said courseware consists of many sub-games, called "courses". They all depend on your wants and needs. The courses included in DynEd Courseware are... OK, there are too many. You can check out the official website for that.
However, some of the most well-known courses are New Dynamic English, The Lost Secret, First English, and English for Success. DynEd Kids gets a special mention because of its very cute characters!
But is the courseware the only thing DynEd has? Nope! Throughout its history DynEd used other mediums so that people can learn English. One of them is the VOA radio series that is adapted from New Dynamic English and Functioning in Business, with cooperation from Heartworks International. Trust me, this is the closest you can get to a radio drama. They also have General English Conversations, the app form of New Dynamic English. Finally, they have the MyDynEd mobile app, which is probably a DynEd masterpost kind of app.
OK, now you've been asking, "What's so fun about DynEd?"
Fine, I'll tell you right away. DynEd is entertaining. Don't listen to those who complain that it's boring. They just haven't discovered the entertainment yet. If you ask me, I saw DynEd as some usual software when it was first introduced at my school. I was playing New Dynamic English. Then I was playing around with the official website and it said that it had a radio show. Being curious and all, I listened. That's when my enthusiasm to DynEd began.
Is New Dynamic English the only thing entertaining? I don't think so. I consider all DynEd courses within one singular universe except for ones with anthromorphic people (like DynEd Kids and Let's Go!) and ones made by other companies (like The Lost Secret), so maybe that can be your reason to venture DynEd.
"So now what? How can I gain access to DynEd?"
Finally! Someone curious!
If you want to gain access to the DynEd Courseware, you will need to contact DynEd directly by contacting them with the subject "I want to study DynEd". Look, you probably want to play DynEd instead, but let's just replace the word "study" and "play" in your head. Besides, you do study when you play. Or is that learn?
Also, if you want to play the courseware, prepare for some money because you gotta pay for the product.
You want some free stuff? There's the General English Conversation mobile app series. You can only gain access to these apps if you have a DynEd account, that can be made either in the DynEd App (that can be downloaded for Android and iOS) or the DynEd mobile site. Keep in mind that the General English Conversations mobile series only have some parts of the New Dynamic English radio show.
How about the VOA radio shows themselves? Well go to the VOA Radio Shows page already. It's a party there!
